GARRISON SLEEP EDUCATION SERVICES

Michael Garrison is currently the Owner and Director of Education for Garrison Sleep Education Services. He works for sleep disorders centers at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Olathe Medical Center. He is an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College Neurodiagnostic Technology program.  He obtained his bachelors degree in psychology, with a minor in writing in December 1987 from Missouri State University.  Mike started his career in healthcare while a student at Missouri State University working for the campus health center.  He moved into home health care and upon attaining his degree he entered the field of Polysomnography.  He became a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) in July 1991.  He worked as an Administrative Supervisor for a university hospital based sleep disorders center and as instructor in that university’s School of Allied Health.  He is an adjunct professor in a community college neurodiagnostics deparment. He is a founding editor and contributing author for Sleep Review.  He successfully achieved Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) in July of 2024. His passion has always been education, so his role as Director of Education provides him an excellent opportunity to educate the public on the topic of sleep and sleep disorders, and promote excellence through education to those in the field of sleep and other fields in healthcare.
